If my client lives in a rented flat, can they insure their Contents with Confidas?

Yes, our home policies will cover this provided that your client owns all the Contents of the flat. i.e. it is not a furnished rental property.

Can my client insure Contents if they sub-let their house?

Buildings and Contents cover are only available if the property is occupied solely by the policyholder and family although Confidas can provide cover for weekend and holiday homes in addition to the main residence.

My client is the freeholder of a house converted into several flats. Can Confidas provide cover for the whole building?

No, this would requite a block “Property Owners” insurance. Unfortunately, Confidas cannot currently provide this type of policy.

Can Confidas offer cover in Northern Ireland?

Yes we can.

Do Confidas note a mortgage lender on the policy documents?

Yes, our Quote and Buy system allows you to enter the mortgage lender’s details on the Summary of Details page, which is reached after you have entered the payment details. Confidas will then issue a letter to the lender confirming cover is in place.

Can my client choose the policy excess?

Yes, subject to a minimum compulsory excess of £250 additional voluntary excesses can be selected in return for a reduced premium.

Are bicycles covered?

Yes, pedal cycles are covered under the Contents section of the policy. Please refer to the Policy Wording for the terms and conditions.

Are golf clubs covered?

Yes, golf clubs are covered under the Contents section of the policy for accidental loss anywhere in the world. We also provide a Hole in One benefit. Please refer to the Policy Wording for the terms and conditions.

Is food in the fridge covered?

Yes, we provide cover for fridge and freezer contents up to the Contents Sum Insured. Please refer to the Policy Wording for the terms and conditions.

Is there cover for properties left unattended for long periods?

Certain restrictions apply if the insured property is left unoccupied and/or unfurnished for more than 60 consecutive days. Please refer to the Policy Wording for the terms and conditions.

Is there a discount for insuring Buildings and Contents together?

Yes, we offer a discount for combining the Contents and Buildings cover.

Does the policy automatically cover Home Emergency?

Yes, Home Emergency cover is automatically covered.

What is Home Emergency?

Home Emergency cover is for the loss of essential services to the insured property. The claims line is open 24 hours a day, all year round. We provide cover for repairs, labour and temporary accommodation should the Insured have to move out of their home overnight. Our network of approved tradesmen is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
